Crafting
Crafting is a skill that allows players to create items such as jewellery, pottery, and armour for use or for trade.
Information
- Crafting is a skill where your best shot at progressing is typically crafting the highest level thing you can currently craft. At the bottom of the article are two methods of training this skill as fast as possible.
- A lot of crafting supplies can be directly purchased by players who are not ironmen. Perry is located in the Hosidius House and offers a large variety of crafting products. The fastest way to access Perry is the ;;shops command --> Hosidius.
- Also located at home, there is a spinning wheel right next to a bank inside of the Lovakengj house. The fastest way to access this is the ;;shops command --> Lovakengj.
Gems and Jewelry
You can purchase uncut sapphires and emeralds from Perry (check the GE or ask other players if they're willing to sell for cheaper than the shop price).
- An alternative to collecting gems is doing slayer, which all NPCs uncommonly drop noted uncut gems.
- Another alternative is doing the Shooting Stars, which rewards uncut gems.
- If you'd like to use your cut gems for more crafting experience, you can turn them into jewelry, making bracelets will result in the most XP.
Obtaining Gems
Gems will end up being the best method for training crafting, so it is incredibly important to understand how to obtain them efficiently. There are four primary methods for farming all sorts of gems:
- Slayer is a very consistent form of gems since many monsters offer a global gem table. The Slayer Resource Chests also have a slight chance of rewarding certain gems.
- Crystal Keys give a lot of gems. See their article for more details by clicking here.
- Bossing is an option where gems are frequently rewarded. Certain bosses like Bandos, K'ril, and Zulrah drop them frequently in smaller quantities. Other bosses such as Venenatis and Chambers of Xeric drop them rarely, but in VERY large amounts.
- Shooting Stars are overall the best method of farming gems. Everytime you see a message that a shooting star has spawned, you should instantly be running to farm up those Stardust.
Glass
- You can purchase soda ash, and buckets of sand from Perry. These can be used on a furnace to make molten glass, which can then be used for glassblowing.
- This is a slower method of training, but its very AFK and cheap once you've made all of the molten glass.
Battle Staves
- Many slayer creatures and bosses will drop powered orbs, and battle staves, additional battle staves can be purchased from Zaff in Varrock.
- These will provide a good amount of experience, and can be sold to the Grand Exchange for their high alchemy value.
D'hide Bodies
- Dragon hides can be obtained from several bosses, and all dragon that drop their respective hides when killed.
- These can be tanned in the Lovakengj house, which has a bank a few tiles away.
- Crafting dragon hide bodies and selling them to the GE is a profitable way to train crafting.
