This will cover information on armour and weapons and where to get them and their upgrade paths if applicable.

A range of early to mid game weapons and armour can be found at ;;Shops North of the Grand Exchange. This typically ranges from Bronze to Dragon, up to Black Dragonhide, Mystic Robes and God Capes.

  • For an Ironman, these gear shops are unavailable. Most items can be purchased at their Old School Runescape locations, such as the Dragon scimitar can be located on Ape Atoll and Helm of neitiznot from Mawnis Burowgar on Neitiznot, or the Ancient Staff from Elbis in the Desert.

The Vote Shop is available to all account types and can be found in ;;shops. Gear upgrades available here are the Fighter Torso, Magic Shortbow(i), Ring of Wealth(i), Tome of Fire, Dwarf Multicannon and the Rune Defender.

  • These can be obtained elsewhere, potentially allowing you to save your vote tickets for something else, or to sell them to other players.

The Blood Money Exchange can be located west of the Grand Exchange at the PvP Arena, or by typing ;;pvp. Speak to Mandrith. You can obtain a lot of good items here in exchange for Blood money. This shop is available to all account types. Most notably, you can obtain a Statius' warhammer, Dragon defender, Ring of wealth(i) and the Imbued God capes.

The Slayer Shop can also be used to exchange your Slayer Points for various goods. Shayzien armor, Black mask and Slayer helmet components, Fighter torso, Salve amulet(e), Abyssal Whip and Dragon boots amongst some others. This can be used by any account type.

Armour

Barrows is the likely first upgrade over your base gear pre God Wars Dungeon. The bosses themselves are very accessible with a low gear/skill requirement. Barrows sets can also be created in Xeric's Forge for 7,500 Fragments per set.

Obsidian can be purchased for Tokkul in Mor ul Rek and provides a moderate strength bonus.

Bandos is the first major gear set in heading towards end game pvm. It provides good strength bonus and good defense. It's a very good all-round melee set. Pieces dropped by General Graardor.

Inquisitor's will be used when you want to prioritise crush damage. Inquisitor's great helm, hauberk and plateskirt have a set effect which boosts your crush accuracy. Best paired with the Inquisitor's mace, the Scythe of Vitur or Annihilation. This can be obtained as a rare drop from The Nightmare.

Justiciar armour from the Theatre of Blood is a very defence focused set with lower strength output.

Torva is a step beyond Bandos in terms of strength and defence. Torva armour is dropped by Nex. This can be further upgraded into Sanguine Torva by obtaining an Ancient Blood Ornament Kit from the Theatre of Blood (Hard).

Weapons

Abyssal Whip is the first staple weapon you'll likely move on to after the Dragon scimitar. It requires 70 Attack and is Slash based. It can be obtained from the Slayer Shop or killing Abyssal Demons (85 Slayer)

Arclight is very strong against any demon type enemies, ie. Cerberus, K'ril Tsutsaroth. It can be obtained by using 3 ancient shards on Darklight while next to the altar in the Kourend Catacombs. Darklight can be purchased from ;;shops or from Sir Prysin in Varrock Castle. Arclight can further be upgraded into Emberlight with a Tormented Synapse drop from Char.
