Nightmare Mode

  • Inspired by Settled's latest challenge on OSRS, Zeah has put together a spin off of Nightmare Mode!
  • Players have the option to select Nightmare Mode on gamemode introduction.
  • Gamemode is restricted to 1 HP, high XP rates and 12% luck, while allowing for upgrades throughout progress to improve the gameplay throughout the mode.
  • All accounts are given a resonance crystal, which allows you to null an incoming attack for a few ticks, this can be further upgraded too!
  • Upgrade points can be obtained by completing both global and personal challenges, found on the scoreboard at home, over 120 challenges have been hooked up to tackle.
  • Account power ups are offered in exchange for upgrade points, allowing you to gain buffs in critical hit chance, max hit, resonance time, overfeeding (allowing anglers to boost you to higher than 1 hp), dodge chance (to avoid getting hit), and even an instakill perk.
  • All nightmare accounts will have brawler, sharpshooter and runic accuracy now provide 10x accuracy (capped at 90%), as well as having Dharok's memento running at all times.
  • This gamemode encourages risk to reward, where the player can become a true glass cannon build, but you get 3 lives to play with fire!
  • WARNING: Random events are active for this gamemode, try not to afk for too long!
  • Note you can complete global challenges even if someone else did, they serve as both global rankings and personal bounties. View them at home!
  • Careful... if you die 3 times, your account will be locked to the home region as a ghost, and the cause of your death will be displayed.

* For the initial launch of this gamemode, each first global challenge completion for nightmare mode will reward a bond as well as news announcements!

Theatre of Blood Hard Mode

  • Introduced a modification to Theatre of Blood in the form of Hard Mode.
  • The following has been adjusted:
    • Maiden will always spawn max blood spiders. If these heal her, her attack speed decreases, down to a possible 2 from 4 ticks.
    • Bloat will have the chance to turn more frequently, and limbs will always fall throughout the duration of the fight.
    • Nylos will reflect damage back on the player if the inappropriate combat style wasn't used. We have opted out of adding in the mini boss mid encounter since our waves are shortened.
    • Sotetseg will launch two red bombs in succession, as opposed to only one. The maze has not been changed to avoid community outcry.
    • Xarpus starts with the outer two squares in his arena already covered with poison. He will rotate to the highest damage quadrant during phase 2.
    • Verzik is where your hard mode journey will end as rocks fall when pillars are attacked during the first phase. Players must use dawnbringer to rise her from her throne. On phase two, if the player gets caught in her bind, a poison pool will spawn underneath. Three yellow pools will spawn in succession as opposed to one during her orb attack on the third phase, and has a final healing phase when she reaches 5% HP.
  • New Rewards have been introduced with Hard Mode, alongside an improved overall drop rate on purple chests of 15%.
    • Ancient Blood ornament kit has been added. Similar to COX kits, 3 of these are needed to turn Torva Helmet, Platebody, and Platelegs to its Sanguine Variant, which features improved accuracy and strength bonus.
    • Claw of Vitur has been added, allowing you to upgrade the Scythe of Vitur to a Scythe of Verzik, lowering its attack speed by 1, similar to our Twisted bow and kit.
    • Players can create the Scythe of Verzik via the Vyrewell outside of TOB, which requires a Scythe of Vitur, Holy and Sanguine Ornament kit, alongside a Claw of Vitur. This is not revertible.
    • Added metamorphic dust for the Lil Zik pet allowing you to transform them into other TOB npcs.


Bug Fixes, Quality of Life Improvements, and Suggestion Implementation

  • Cox leaderboard was showing Normal and CM times in reversed order, this has been fixed.
  • Added monthly rollover for top voters allowing us to access them at any time for any month.
  • Removed the world log message for evil trees that would occur sometimes during account creation or first login.
  • Removed the restriction for type of weapons for cosmetic overrides, now only requires single handed/2h and range weapons must override range weapons.
  • Adjusted the way purples in TOB are displayed, only the chest containing the unique reward will be highlighted.
  • You will no longer be allowed to perform an emote when transformed into an npc.
  • Added functionality to manage and unban from fc.
  • Improved admin tools for account management ie donation transferring, password resetting etc.
  • Added critical hitsplats.
  • Items that have a destroy text option will now have the proper right click options.
  • Pet perks now have a destroy option instead of drop.
  • Pet perks now return proper descriptions when examined.
  • Wildywyrm command now prints wilderness level to reduce confusion.
  • Added functionality for tanning noted hides (1k fee per hide)
  • It is now possible to reclaim cannons from Nulodion while they are setup, rather than waiting until they decay.
  • Added a world reminder message if party demon is still spawned after some time has passed.
  • Castlewars games can now be started with 1 player on each team.
  • Doubled marks received from zombie kills during the minigame encounter.
  • Added make-all to jewellery smithing, remove 1/5/10 - use make-x.
  • Special attack energy will replenish twice as fast in PvP tournaments.
  • Combat dummies will no longer reward xp over lvl 50.
  • After NPCs die targeting NPCs will be properly remove their target.
  • Added three anniversary bundles to our store, giving a discounted rate on a bundle of items, thank you for allowing us to pass our two year mark!
  • Prismatic, Enigmatic and Emblematic energy pets are given when opening an Anniversary bundle, each providing a 1%, 2%, and 3% luck bonus respectively.
