Woodcutting
Woodcutting is a gathering skill that primarily involves chopping trees to obtain logs used in the Fletching, Firemaking, and Construction skills. Players with a higher Woodcutting level can chop down new types of trees and cut down trees quicker, especially as higher levels of axes become available.
Basics of Woodcutting
The concept of Woodcutting is obtaining logs by chopping different tiers of trees. Using higher tier axes will result in quicker chop times and faster XP gained per hour. The logs that are obtained can then be used in the training of the Firemaking or Fletching skills, or for the creation of planks used in the Construction skill.
XP Boosts

Note: There are many more trees across Zeah, however the ones listed are the most useful regarding XP gain, money making, and skill training.

Lastly, teleport to the Woodcutting Guild, run past the Yew and Magic trees, and climb up the ladder on the Redwood trees to be able to chop them.
Woodcutting Pet
The beaver is a skilling pet that can be obtained while training Woodcutting. A strange sound is heard when you obtain the beaver while Woodcutting. The chances of getting it are dependent on the player's Woodcutting level, and the time it takes to gather a resource. Chopping ent trunks and bruma roots will not give players a chance to receive this pet. Players will also be met with a chat box text stating "You have a funny feeling you're being followed". It is not necessary to insure the pet as all pets are auto kept on death on Zeah.
