Vanstrom Klause, the Reaper Boss is a powerful Vampyre that lurks in Darkmeyer.

In order to challenge Klause, you will need a Reaper's key. These keys can be obtained either from a Reaper's chest or by ourchasing them directly from Death for 50 Reaper Points.

Getting Started

Once you have a Reaper's Key, you can click on it for a direct teleport to Klause's door. If you're out of keys, you can get there from the Teleport Nexus or Crystal of Memories. Starting an instance will consume one key and will last for one hour or until you obtain one kill. If you die, you can teleport back and rejoin without using another key.

Mechanics

Phase One

Klause begins the fight with Magic attacks and can switch between all three styles randomly. Getting hit by one of his attacks off prayer will deal significant damage and heal him.

  • His magic attack will target a 3x3 area centered on the player so you will need to constantly be moving after attacking him back.
  • His ranged attack, is straightforward and can be prayed against with no issue.
  • His melee attack can hit very high, and when switching to melee, Klause will close the gap to you with a teleport.

Generally, his melee attack is most the most dangerous and gives you less time to react, so if he's about to switch style, it can be beneficial to pre-switch to Protect from Melee and be ready to switch to either Protect from Mage or Ranged.

Klause's style change is indicated by a pause in his attacks while he raises his weapon into the air.

Phase Two

Upon being lowered to half of his health, Klause turns into an invulnerable most and positions himself in the center of the room.

He will summon multiple small creatures to his aid which can deal small damage to the player and heal Klause.

Protect from Melee can be used to negate damage in this phase.

A Venator bow, chinchompas or Barrage spell can be useful in taking multiple of them down quickly.

Phase 3

After killing his summons, Klause returns to the fight and begins again with Magic attacks.

This is similar to the first phase, but he does a bit more damage and switches attack style faster and more frequently.
